Planeswalker Stockings!
So the story behind these is that an old coworker of mine was rediscovered many years later and opened a tabletop gaming store with food in Minnesota called Your Mom’s Basement. The place rocks!! The fact that he’s gone so far as to open his own business and such is hugely inspiring so I keep wanting to make things for the place. He requested, for Christmas, a set of Christmas stockings to decorate the store’s fireplace with from Magic the Gathering. He gave me the character names and here’s what I came up with ^_^
So I was doing the scorekeeping for the StarCityGames tournament over at SoCal Smackdown in Anaheim and I doodled some things in my sketchbook.

The artwork is done by Mike Krahulik - you guys may recognize him as the primary artist of the Penny Arcade comics. These coloring pages are just absolutely adorable, and I especially love the Chandra and Ral ones (sob sob I forgot to scan Ral sobbbbb); so much personality!
(the Ral Zarek on the last page that we didn’t notice/forgot to scan - my friend/dorm neighbor is asleep so I can’t use his scanner right now to get that one sob sob ;n; and the Ral one is so cool!)
