My boyfriend and I got tattoos today.
You all are amazing. You know that.
And, as many of you also know, I have two tattoos. They are both Magic: the Gathering related. One is the mana symbols next to my left hip bone and the other is the image of Platinum Angel on my right side below my rib cage.
I was browsing around facebook today and saw a post of a guy who got a Claptrap tattooed on his back and I veered into the comments section because the Borderlands page had asked people to submit other photos of Borderlands tattoos that people might have. There was a lot of love for the man’s tattoo, I’ve got to say… but there was also a lot of tattoo-bashing. Not just for the content-matter (video games) but just for having a tattoo.
Now, I’m a huge advocate of tattoos and I really think that judging people based on their tattoos or whether they have tattoos is idiocy. I don’t think you really need to have an incredibly inspirational story to go along with your tattoo. Some people just love to have them. Mine are very easy to cover up (as long as I’m not wearing a bikini!) so I don’t face the immediate judgement as “a person with tattoos” when I walk about campus and the city every day, but I’m really curious about people’s thoughts on tattoos. It seems like there’s a large variation.
So, I’m posing this question to you guys as more of a curiosity (and feel free to send an answer to my ask box if it won’t fit in the answer box):
What do you think of tattoos and the people who have them? And, if you’d like to be more specific, what do you think of people who have tattoos of things from games (video games or otherwise)?
Look at these fantastic Planeswalker tattoos! This picture was taken by a follower at Acen!
Feel free to send me awesome magic news or pictures that you’d like to see posted!
In honor of tonight’s Avacyn Restored pre-release event, I had Cyndi do this for me.
THAT IS SO DAMN AWESOME. YOU, MADAM, ARE SO DAMN AWESOME.
I only did the Mana Symbols, which are still in the peeling stage here.
